Nice pics, roy. You got closer with those shots than what I would have with the current equipment I have. Gotta get working on remedying that situation.

Don't worry about toes ..I wear steel toed boots...Nice photos. Very sharp. They hold up well at a 200% zoom on my monitor! Did you get the chance to shoot more?

The ospreys have declined in numbers over here for unknown reasons. Some ten years ago we had a pair down at the little lake nearby. They werebreeding every year, once I saw them with three fledging youngsters at the same time. Haven't seen any in seven or eight years.
I often see ospreys posted here. Are they still common in America? And what happened to your 500/4.5? Still waiting for spares? Kjell |

Wonderful pictures, Roy, and very interesting information, penolta. It seems like the California Condor gets all the press around here, so I didn't realize that so many other types of birds were affected, too.

H,
i'm from S. La. and the state bird is the brown pelican. it was almost wiped from the face of the earth from this as was the condor. fortunately they've made a spectacular come back as the bald eagle.. roy |

Very Nice pictures. I see ospry's every day, there are nests on just about all the telephone poles over by the marina, and there are always a few sitting up high watching the water out at the refuge.
Getting a good close up, now thats rare here. |
