Osprey/ BIG stick / Why ???
Just about the time I think I have any wildlife's behavior close to figured out, they do something to totally baffle me. I know two days ago there was at least one baby in this nest. Today I was sitting and watching to see if the young one would raise his or her head and Mom left the edge of the nest to a limb about 5 yards away. Then Pop shows up carrying this large limb. He circled around a couple of times and flew over the nest then came back and dropped the large limb down into the nest then left and went towards the lake. I stayed put for at least 1/2 hour and Mom never did go back to the nest. For some reason I didn't feel good about this and it bothered me on the way home. ![]() ![]() ![]() TOTALLY WACKY roger |

Hey Roger
Don't osprey's add to the nest prior to breeding & laying eggs??.. Perhaps the fledgling died & the pair has mated again & is readying the nest for a new hatch??.. Bruce |
