When I acquired Photoshop Elements 5 a few months ago I thought that this one programme would be sufficient to produce the results of pictures as I recalled them.
This shot was edited with PSE 5. Coded Color version of Paint Shop Pro and Picasa 2, with adjustments from Faststone and Imagenomic ( Noiseware) Just wonder if others are using various programmes to get closest to " As seen" ? Ian Mc PS. Pentax K10D with Tamron 70-300 Reduced but only slightly cropped. |

don't get pi$$ed. if you can't do it in PSE or PSP or any other prime software program alone then why are you wasting you time and money?? a good noiseware program helps tho.. my premise has always been, get a prime program, learn it and forget about the quickies. you can get anything you want from PSE or PSP or the GIMP or PAINT.net without saving and redoing in another program.. why waste the time????
the image is the same in ANY quality graphics program as it is in another. learn the best program you have. the posted image is great but why waste your time with multiple programs???? roy |

Thanks Roy
I have only had one big buy the PSE 5 as the Coded color came with a magazine and the rest all free. You are correct that I need further learning on PSE 5 but for quick colouradjustments Picasa2 and Coded Color suit me !!! Ian Mc |

ian,
thanks for taking no offense!! it's just as easy in PSP or PSE if you learn to do it.. hey , it works in PS as well.. you just need to see which buttons to push:blah: still, very much learning, roy |

That is a cool Otter shot.
They can be real posers at times. As for the PP, I use CS2. I am no expert, and know maybe 5% of the program, but I have a thick book and loads of tips from here. One day I may be proficient in it, but for now my shots are good enough to be displayed on the wall and for friends and family to go WOW! Dal |

Thanks again Roy, John and Dal.
My main reason for using different programmes is to get colour and lustre right. Colour adjustments using SmartFix in PSP sometimes give that slight change I want, other times nope !!! I find that as final edit applying Picasa2 auto contrast and possibly some lightening can add lustre to the image. Ian Mc |

Ian
I only use One program as well. I Use PSE 5 for all My work. I also have PSP X and CS2 on my PC. I Guess its just that i started with V1 of PSE and have every version Since, so Its the program I am most Comfortable with. I Bought PSP to play and see if i would like it Better, but i keep going back to PSE. I would love To learn more about CS2 as i cannot get the hang of it. I am looking into courses at a local Community College. I have tried several Books, But I never can find the Time to Sit and read them. I do Use Noise reduction however. Phil |

I use NoiseWare and occasionally Neat Image (better results but slow on my computer) for noise reduction, and I use the original first edition of PSE for most everything else. I have used PS CS2 for my forays into more "creative" post processing but at my skill level PSE is fine.
