Hi guys!
Been back from Japan for a few days and only just gone through the photo's. Thought I would share with you some of the least tourist-y photo's. They aren't brilliant as whenever I needed it I didn't have my trpod, and when I didn't it was slung over my shoulder while trying to take a photo! Blossom in Kyoto (the guide said apricot rather than cherry) ![]() One of the many temple's gardens ![]() Tokyo Tower... go on, guess how many photo's I took at 1/10 before I got one that wasn't blurred... ![]() "Arty" close-up of the structure ![]() Somewhere over Siberia ![]() Will go through the others this weekend and post them if anyone's interested. |

Very nice. The one of the Tokyo Tower handheld is amazing! Nice composition on #2 as well. Looking forward to seeing more.

All very nicely done...I do love the buildings. The angles and curves always have interest!

Thanks Dawg, yeah the architecture (outside of the drab grey concrete suburbs) is stunning.
Absolutely can't wait to go back, but it's going to take me ages to pay back this trip, let alone save enough to go again... *sigh* ![]() |

Lovely photos! I've always wanted to visit Japan, and these pictures are strengthening my desire...but my wallet brings me back to reality. =(

Thanks Illuminati
Yeah it is very expensive, well only getting there, hotels are cheap (£55 a night compared to £90 government rates when I am on a business trip to London), and you can eat very cheaply if you follow the locals and don't just go to the first place with an English menu. In fact some of the best meals we had on the entire trip was in a tiny little 10 seat restaurant under a railway bridge. I had a massive bowl of "Suupa Supaiisi Udon" (Super Spicy Udon) for about £2, even as a 6 foot 2 inch foreigner, I couldn't finish it there was that much. I absolutely have to go back to Japan, before I went there I thought "yeah I have to go sometime" and now I have been there I absolutely have to go back, it's just incredible, not so much for things like the scenery in Tokyo (if you want photo's you have to travel around Tokyo or just go to Kyoto), but the people are incredible. |
