Here's a a couple of shots from this afternoon. It was just one of these great winters days that begged the snowmobile to head into an area about 10 miles from here. What a way to spend an afternoon.

Comments?

Cheers

Brian ,

A belated welcome from the balmy Toronto

Brian & Ira,

I feel warmer these few days in Toronto at only -10 degree C (around zero F with the wind) looking at images of you guys.

Welcome to the forum Brian. By strange coincidence, there is this other guy on the forum from Gander, maybe you have met him? :-)

I like the shot with the boats and the way they add color and interest to the foreground. For me, the foreground element in the first shot (rear of a snowmobile?) did not work. Certainly looks like it was a beautiful day.

Hello and welcome from even further north! We're still waiting for a very belated winter to begin (the snow we had just after New Year rained away after a few days).

I tried a very simple "trick" with #2, just clicked "Auto contrast" in PSE3 and resized, and levelled the horizon a tad counterclockwise. Hope you don't mind.

I like the boats as well. The snowmobile picture didn't give enough info to be able to tell what the snowmobile was. The sunset, however, was quite nice!

Hey Tim...

Not only have I met Ira from Gander, but we also work together. Actually it was Ira who introduced me to this forum and got me back into photography after a few years away from it

Nice touch Ira, as always. I like the extra whiteness in the snow.

Impressive sunset over Boot Pond, don't youthink. It was taken, looking back towards Gander fromin front of ouurfriend Frank's cabin around 5 pm on Saturday.

Nice touch Kjell. I like it.

We have enough winter and snow here for both of us. After several mild winters we're paying for it this year as you can see by the snow in the pictures. By the way, as we speak, another snow storm is heading towards us. Maybe more pictures tomorrow to share?

Cheers

Love your pictures, especially the boats (though I like the color of the sunset, I agree with the others about the snowmobile not adding anything). I won't post a picture I took last week at lunch-time - there wasn't a cloud in the sky and one of the people throwing a frizbee was barefoot and the skateboarder who glided by was wearing a short-sleeved tee-shirt...

Welcome to the forum, Brian!

You seem to have fun over there. Not much different than here, apparently. Decided to get out on Saturday on a -17F and -40F wind chill day. I only lasted for 30 mins. And I wasn't the only maniac out there: there was a Nikon guy with a tripod which got stuck in the open position:-)

Here are some of Canada geese enjoying the weather down-south:
