Trying to get a handle on my new lens (Sigma 28-80 macro).
Here are a few shots today of some flowers on their last legs. Since it's dark out I put the vase on the floor under my fluorescent desk lamp for lighting. Set the white balance for fluorescent. The only adjustments made to the photo were a little levels, cropping and noise reduction and sharpening. Although, the last two didn't seem to have any effect. Taken handheld at 80mm macro, f13, 1/6 sec, ISO400, spot metering, A/P. Any tips welcome. Thanks, Patty |

Very nice - I like both of them. Love it when you can see the pollen on the petals.

Like them both Patty, the pollen looks almost as if floating in the air. ... Jack.

Thanks everyone. I'd really like it if the sun was out when I was home and I could try some with natural light. Also, need some fresher flowers. There are iris' in the bouquet, but those shots didn't make it. Some day.

Patty I used an Alpha Channel and Edge sharpening, then changed to LAB color mode and used a curves adjustment in the "a" and "b" channels. Hope you like it!
