OK, on the Pentax Lens forum I just pointed out that my latest bout of LBA has resulted in an FA35 f2 and an FA50 f1.4, I have now seen next years affliction. Man, this lens sounds perfect for my occasional wildlife shots (which would become more frequent with this glass), faster and less expensive than the 170-500mm and a perfect complement to my 24-135mm Sigma.
Thanks, I think:roll: Ira |

Ira
all the user reviews I read of this lens before I bought it suggest it suits that the sort of use you are looking for. It is reasonably priced and with a smaller zoom range it delivers good results for teh price. And it is not a Digital Lens, so it can be used on film bodies as well. Phil |

My dream lens at the moment would be the F* 300mm f4.5 but this is a very close second (and available new for less money than the used F*). So far I haven't purchased any digital-only lenses except for the 18-55mm that came with the camera. Thanks Ira |

Just to chime in re the aps-c image circle.
Apparently, the DA40 does not vignette AT ALL on fullframe and if the camera is new enough it doesn't need an aperture ring. The lens behaves perfectly, as if it were set to -A- Oh, and this was a terrific shot ![]() |
