The irises my wife planted are in full bloom this week, and a light rain seemed to bring out even more

Cool shots Paul.
I love the detail that close-up/macro shots reveal, and you have captures the lot - colour texture and interest. Thnaks for sharing. Dal |

Wonderful! The colors are breathtaking and I like the colors, too. I am puzzled how well the blues and reds came out as this is usually a weak point in digicam (including dSLR) shots - any special tricks used?

Thanks for the nice words, guys. No special tricks. K20d and DA*50-135 on the first two and the Tamron with macro on the third. Very slight levels adjustment and USM.
One of the things that has impressed me most in the first few days with the K20 is the color. Paul |

These are lovely flowers, I think I like the first one best as it's very delicate. But all are wonderful.
I also find the color very pleasing for the most part with the K20. Sometimes the reds will over-saturate, but that's about it. |

I love the clarity of the water droplets in the first shot. Well done!
You mention that you used the DA*50-135 on that one. How close were you and what's the minimum focusing distance on that lens? |
