When Patty began the January challenge with the subject "reflections" I immediately thought of this building. It has an outer glass "shell" made of individual glass panals that are purposely set at different angles to create, if I can guess the mind of the architect, a piece of urban art. It is a cool building that because of the trees, power lines and cable car cables is difficult to photograph. Here is a shot of the whole thing and then some close-ups that have been PPed a bit.

If the sun was right you'd have a tough time photographing those walls! Very nice close angle views.

Thanks for the comments Jay and Harriet. It is a cool building. I would never have evenseen it except I was across the street waiting for my wife when I suddenly noticed what yousee in picture #2.She was in the building because it has an Asian foodstore on the ground floor and having lived in Thailand and Malaysia for nearly 20 years, every so often we need aThai curry and sticky rice fix!

Glenn,
If you do not mind a suggestion...try to adjust the perspective on no. 2 so the plane appears square. I think this is easily adustable in Adobe CS or Elements. Pictures like this continue to remind me that it is not the equipment, but the eye of the photographer that makes a good picture great! Jay |
