Some amazing and diverse images - great captures of the color and scenes, excellent composition in all. You'd best avoid those last birds - probably not good for your health!

Hard to choose a favorite, but I am a sucker for sunrise and sunset photos, so will vote for the "dirty window" scene and the "saying goobye." Although the closer image of the Christ statue is a close second... and all are great! Thanks for sharing!

Really spectacular shots! Rio looks like such an amazing place, the scenery is awesome. I am somewhat surprised that someone hasn't bought up the shanty-town properties and built a mega resort or condo complex - views would be incredible.

Fantastic series, glad to see you are such a connoisseur of exotic birds, but you were wise to keep your distance such birds have been implicated in several heart palpitations.

Really loved the sunrise shot through the dirty window and goodbye to Rio. I also loved the vistas from on high.

Great series, Lou!
I'm a bit envious.

Mole - You are absolutely right! My wife told me if she found me with one of those birds she would kill me and that would indeed be bad for my health.

Glad you enjoyed the scenery from high above Reno. The statue of the redeemer was a very impressive sight. One of our brave and fit travel companions climbed the 250 steps to the top and was rewarded with the sun half visible sitting just above the head and making a striking image, looking like a halo.

Mtngal - It would indeed make a nice location for a resort but perhaps only for mountain goats

Paul - I told my wife that all I wanted to do in Rio was meet the girl from Ipanema. I asked all of them if they were she and they all answered in the negative. So here I am still married to my lovely wife and posting on Steve's.

GW- Thanks and hope you enjoy traveling with me through these pictures.
