Was outside testing out my new Sigma APO DG 70-300mm when my feeder was bombarded by these little guys. Snapped away lots of pictures and the keep rate with the K10was suprising higher than with my *istDS, mostly in part to faster burst rate and faster focus speed. Here are just some of the keepers. Exif attached, C&C welcomed!

Thanks Dawg... These are some loud little ones too,I heard them going as soon as I stepped outside... It just took a few minutes for them to get back to the feeder after being spooked off by the front door.

Damn, Nick, those are great!!!!!! Anytime that you can get their wings stopped is good but when you can get one to stick its tongue out at ya, you better stop & buy a lottery ticket!!!
Can hardly wait to get me one of dem k10d's!!! Ron Oh yeah...Roy, as long as you use 1 cup of sugar to 2 cups of water & boil, the mixture is fine. Actually, this late in the season, 1 sugar to 3 water should do also. |

Thanks Ron! You are right about it being mere luck catching their different "poses." I just put the camera in AF.C and Continuous drive Jpeg's... Hit the shutter and track them through the viewfinder... take about 20+ shots before stopping to look at them.
Roy, I will post my mother-in-law's recipe this evening once she gets off and I can get ahold of her. She cooks all the hummingbird juice around here and leaves it for us in old 1/2 gallon milk containers. Whatever she does must be good, because I have to refill them just about every night. Nick |
