    Taken with a K10D Pentax camera and a Vivitar 300mm f/5.6 TX mount lens with a Sigma APO DG EX 1.4 Teleconverter. Hand held shot at f/11 and f/8 in Aperture priority mode!

    I get them passing through in the Spring and Fall. They like cooler weather than you and I live in most times!

    Your Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are much more colorful then the closely related Black-headed Grosbeaks we have in the West. Nice capture.

    Their migration route is through here every spring and fall. Only a brief visit but they will sit very still...Not a twitchey bird at all. Thanks for looking Paul!

    Rose breasted in the books as well as scarlet breasted in a few...Scarlet here in this part of the country and Rose breasted else where....A rose breasted by any other name is just as scarlet breasted! LOL
