Hi all - Today I found some Snowberries in bloom. Snowberries have pure white berries in the Fall. These are hard to shoot because they hang down at an awkward position. To top it off they were under a tree on a cloudy day. I had to shoot at F5.6 and 1/45 sec. After surveying things, I decided to use my monopod, because of the slow speed (I have a DL) and set up a focus trap, because of the crazy position.

What I did was set up the monopod length, so whenI moved it forward, the flower on the left was in the focus circle. I had my M50 macromounted and change the switch to AF, held the shutter down and slowly tilted the monopod forward with the circle on the left flower. The shutter went snap and it's a keeper. The focus trap came to the rescue again - Bruce

Great shot Bruce. You can see how thin the DoF was, so to get the whole bloom in focus would be difficult anyway.

glad the focus trap worked for you. I still use that tecnique with a lot of my macro work - the leaning in and out with the camera, lens set to 1:2 or 1:1 , pray for the shutter to hurry up and trip!
