Outstanding Capture. Where did you shoot this one at?

Hi Dennis,
Great capture! We don't get Showys up here, but I get some opportunities to shoot Great Egrets, but they don't have the black legs and yellow feet, which I like for some odd reason. Of the Great Egrets I've had a chance at, I never really got them really showing off their breeding plumage like in your shot -- and the dark background makes it that much better. Scott |

Thanks Terry. This was at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine. Actually the first time I ever went there. The Rookery is quite a place. Close range and birds flying all over the place. I took a bunch of pice. I'll have to post a couple others.

Thanks, Scott. The place I went was quite interesting. There are so many alligators it keeps the other predators in check so there are lots of birds nesting. And, you get pretty close to them. This is barely cropped, just a bit off the top.

Thanks Kjell. The bird did most of the work...LOL!
Here's another from yesterday. This is a green heron. Same setup 1/50 sec. ![]() |
