Maybe its just the image reduction, but it sort of looked like an area was in sharp focus. With single point focus you could do that kind of thing on a subject with depth.

Looking again though with a magnifying glass I can see indeed none of it really is in focus.

Thanks for posting the crops - the resizing and compressing for the web certainly didn't do the picture justice. I've noticed that occasionally, what's an outstanding picture full of detail loses something when significantly downsized. Your picture is definitely one to be proud of.

Hopefully in 5 years we'll all have 36" monitors and webspace won't be a problem, and we'll all be able to post our pics fullscreen at 100%...

...in retrospect, we'll all be shooting with 56 megapixel cameras so back to square one :?
