I'm trying to get the hang of the sigma100-300ex + tc 1.4 using it without a tripod.
I just started simple with the birds that are in my garden and even with the sr it's not simple (imho).

here are my first descent +300mm shots,
(any C&C always welcome)

the teleconvertor isn't showing in the exif data, so the f has to be multiplied by 1.4 as the focal length. (the data in bold)
1/100 s - F 4.00 - 320iso - 300.00 mm - (F5.6 420mm)
1/125 s - F 5.60 - 320iso - 300.00 mm (F8 420mm)

ok those brats are growing much to fast - so from now on only berries.
1/100 s - F 4.00 - 500iso - 280.00 mm (F5.6 420mm)
1/400 s - F 4.00 - 500iso - 280.00 mm (F5.6 392mm)

ok = thats all folks
1/100 s - F 5.60 - 320iso - 280.00 mm (F8 420mm)

To me it looks like you got a winning combination there, Ronny. Just look at the feather details in #2 & #3!

Kjell, I hoped this would work and I'm now double happy with the lens.

It'll take me some extra practice to get good shots standing up, these where all sitting on one knee, but I'll get there :G.

Hi Ronny,

VERY NICE SHOTS!!! I kind of like the last one (Cute). A very modest bird.....:G

I wouldn't worry about the shooting position. It is not how you got the shot, It is you got the shot...:|

Hi Ronnie,

Very nice work! I knew that you'd be doing some good things with that lens. . .

All are great, but I like three and four with the two berries best, and the dove shot is a great pose.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more Belgian birds in the future. . .

you've got a winning combo here in great set of hands. i'm going out on a limb but these compare very well with the shots from the FA* 300mm and the tamron 300/2.8. i won't mention any names tho.

Fantastic, that feather detail is amazing. All of them are very good shots.

All great shots, but the feather detail in 1 and 2 is fantastic esop when thinking that the bird is only about 3-4" tall!

Great work Ronny.

Very pleased you've got your combo working to perfection.
