Just returned from watching my daughter play in the Star of the North Games Volleyball Tournament. Out of 39 teams in their age bracket, they went undefeated and took first place honors. These shots are with the DS and FA 50mm f/1.4. I shot in jpeg for the first time (only had room for the camera, lens and a single card), in Sports Mode (no manual WB).

Great shots! They are sharp and the lighting looks very natural. How far away were you from the action?

Well done - both to your daughter and to Dad for the excellent photos, too. Both of you should be very proud.

Very nice, I see you still have the indoor lighting down pat.

The seating was pretty bad--2 rows of bleachers at two of the venues and four rows at the other. It was impossible to get shots from the side (to catch the action at the net) because it was too close and the referee's stand was in the way. The seating at the last venue, the only seating was at the rear of the court. So, to capture faces, you had to shoot with the net in the way. |
