Ditto on Tom's comments! Were you using the macro mode? I have the Sigma version of this lens and on Macro mode it produces outstanding results! Great compositions though which can only be attributed the photographer!

Thanks all for the comments. A photographer I'm not. What I see here on this forum are photographers that inspire me to try different things. I never seem to see the right composition in the view finder. So I focus on getting the subject in focus. Then crop to what I think is the right composition in PSCS. And yes I had the Tamron in macro mode, which points out another of my shortcomings. To get some decent bokeh with narrow depth of field I have to use a tripod, otherwise I'm too unsteady and usually drift out of focus. I used a littleUSM on these also.

For these flowers, the credit goes toGod, creator of all.Who else could have achieved such perfection?

Very nice shots. Nothing wrong with using a tripod. In fact, I need to develop the discipline to use a tripod or monopod for my macros and maybe get a higher percentage of keepers. I am not familiar with straw flowers but they certainly are photogenic.

The plant breeders who develop these varieties deserve some credit, too. And you shouldn't sell yourself short -- these are as good as any that have appeared here (and better than many, too).
