I live in south Wales, Bath is pretty much dead centre of the first image as the crow flies. You can see all the baloons when they have the big festival in Bristol from here because we are so high up:

Red - Me
Yellow - direction of sunrise that morning

We were all in a line, so it would have been exactly the same as for you.

As for work, they aren't dismissing me as such, just moving me from one department to another, it's still the same employer. The pay drop is because I lose the "retainer" allowance for working in the IT dept.
