Default Swamp Buggy races

We did our annual trek to Naples for the Swap Buggy races again this year. They have 3 or 4 races a year and some of the faster buggies use old NASCR engines in the V8 buggies. The Jeep races are the most fun as we bet on the outcome. $1 per person in our group, winner take all ($12).First the Queen and her court

The Jeeps are all gutted and have snorkels for air and exhaust, thin wheels for reduced resistance

They line up a bunch and do a 2 lap race

The Swamp buggies have 3 classes, 4 Cyl, 6 Cyl and 8 Cyl buggies, most are 2 wheel drive but one or two are 4 wheel drive, this is a V8 buggy

G'day Hans

A wonderful set of images for what seems to be a great fun day
Plenty of action - plenty of splash and rush ... you've done well

Wow! I think you did a great job capturing the action.

Love the water walls surrounding Mud Bone. And it doesn’t look like there’s much left of the Jeeps other than a bit of the body.

I almost feel like I was there and should be drying myself off instead of huddled up, drinking coffee.
