Hi Walter,

Excellent macros. #2 is especially appealing.
On a somber note, more than simpleprotection is needed for these animals if they are to survive in their deteriorating environment. Due to their physiology and means of reproduction, frogs (and other amphibians) are especially vulnerable animals and arein trouble all over the world due to a variety of factors -- pollution, thinning of the ozone layer, warming climate, and habitat destruction. Many biologiststhink we are witnessing a major extinction event. |

What can I say about the photos other than that we are priviliged to have you as a poster on this forum.
As for the tree frogs they have been fairly successfully protected by habitat reconstruction in an area not far from where I live. On the other hand it's the only area they are found in entire Sweden. The threat to tree frogs in tropical areas like Costa Rica and Colombia should be a concern for the entire world, like the decrease in numbers of the amphibians all over the world. Kjell |

Each of these shots is appealing for a different reason. Thanks for posting. One of the side benefits of photographing natural subjects is a greater awareness of the value and beauty that is around us. The more we search for detail in our photos, the more we realize how complex and wonderful each of our subjects is.
