Here's some more shots of the sunset I took last night. I spent some time processing these, and ended up using Benjamin Kanarek's sharpening technique on all but the first. Thanks again to Benjamin! I try to emphasize the sky in these more than the foregrounds.....D.

Ship coming into Vancouver harbor

similar shot to the one I posted last night, but more processed...

A couple taking in the sunset....

enjoying the moment alone...

another ship leaving port

These were all handheld taken with the k20d, using the 18-55 kit lens and the 55-300. Varying shutter speeds and apertures. If you wish to view the data, you can check out my smugmug address at ....cheers...Don

Love those colors. I think I like the one with the people in it the best.

Excellent images! Good use of shadows to convey the mood of the end of the day! Image #4 (pier with the lonely person) is my favorite!

Very nice, Don. I like the fourth one with the single person on the pier the best. So peaceful.

Hey Don,
I have to agree, #4 is my favorite.
I like them all, except the first one… seems… I don't know, like the background isn't real or something. Can't quite put my finger on it.
The second one looks awesome, for lack of a better word.

Thanks very much everyone. I don't do a lot of landscapes anymore, as you guys know. Funny, the first one had very little processing done, but does have that surreal looking background. It's probably because of looking through 25 miles of haze at Vancouver Island from the mainland....cheers...Don

No. 2 for me Don. The sharpening works.
