stormed most of the day yesterday. this was a lot harder to do than i thought it would be. getting the axis correct was the main problem.
tripod, 1:1, difussed onboard flash, f2.4,2.8,4,5.6,8,11,22,32.. 600x500 100% crops. the only PP was auto levels in PS. about 1.5m d/l tell me your thoughts. http://www.texasbostons.com/centersharp.jpg roy |

They are too small for my old eyes to see Roy! Could you make them larger?
Now that I figured it out, f/16, then f/11 Tom |

Edited because I figured out I needed to click the images to see them full size, stupid Internet Explore.
I would say that there is a noticable sharpness improvement starting at F8. Image lost significant quality at F32. F8, F11, F16, and F22 are all real good but I think F16 looks the best with F11 not far behind. Tim |

f/11 seems to be what I leaned towards also.

I had to remember to go into internet explorer tools and uncheck the "automatically resize pictures" block. Then refreshed the page and the crops were there full-sized.

i think f11 rules thru out. it doesn't mean i'll quit using f16 for my macros. overall , i think anything between f8-16 is best. we're kind of pixel peeping here at a level that you can't see in the overall image.
