Took my newly acquired K10d to the lake to test out it's action performance. WOW, this thing focuses so much quicker than the *istDS that I had, even my wife noticed the difference when I let her snap off a few shots. The huge buffer is a big help too! I was shooting with my Sigma 100-300 f/4.5-6.7 because my Sigma APO 70-300mm has not arrived yet. All these shots were cropped and resized and some have had minor levels adjustments, but other than that, these are straight from the camera. As always, C&C welcomed!

Nick, those are fantastic. You wereright about the sequence, it did get better at least as far as action was concerned. The first is still a nice shot, though!.

Love the pictures - looks like you aren't going to have any adjustment problems going to the K10. Your panning shots are outstanding - your lens might not have cost much, but the guy on the other side of it sure knows how to get the most out of it.

Oh no, the adjustment was very easy after seeing how quickly the K10 locked focus (even with my slow tele-lens) and the fact that I could shoot continuous without worrying about filling up the buffer. The 10mpjpegs did not do as much damage on the 2GB as I thought they would either.
Overall opinion of the camera... WOW! Now I know what all the fuss was about! Nick |
