Mark, that is a very neat landscape, the portrait orientation worked very well and makes the shot much more interesting.

My three favorites, far from the best that are posted here, but I'm learning from what I see on this forum.

Bokeh could have been better on this one:

Could have been sharper

Nice ones all around. But I see you are already talking of doing better...That is the thing I tell myself after viewing every photo I take...I know I can do better...You don't have far to go...Me on the other hand...The jury is still out!!!

Crash,

I am a sucker for sunsets and your Timor sunset is beautiful.

As for my best 3, very tricky. It took me a long time to get to grips with the GX-10 and I'm still learning, you get quite spoilt by P&S cameras! They're easy to use and very light. Then you get this brick of a camera and it takes time (at least it did for me). Latterly I started to appreciate the joys of RAW and post-processing (something I am only still playing with, haven't really progressed past a bit of sharpening and adjusting the contrast). So looking back at the year I think the school report would read something like:

"A slow start but developed as the year progressed. Looking forward to continued improvement in 2008"

Anyway, enough waffling, after much trawling through my Flckr account, here are my 3 least bad:

From June was this interesting sky in Scotland:

Then maybe this shot of the Manchester Eye in November:

And finally from Menorca in May:

Hmmm, I obviously don't like the sun.

All 3 were straight from the camera, or with very little PP.

I've only had my DSLR for 9 months and I'm still learning how to use it. This is the best I could do, I forget to grab my camera when I leave the house but I'm getting better at remembering it now. So next year I won't have any excuses:lol:

Wow!

Some really terrific shots posted here.

Next time, I think I'll wait and see what's put up before I post my meager offerings.

Beautiful shots from everyone.
