This bird is about half the size of the others I have seen this summer, so it may be a young bird, but here is it flying across the pads.

Tom,

You have a good one there. I can only manage stationary shot. I am too impatient to wait for them to take off. And if they are flying around, they are too fast for me to catch them.

Nice, both the bird and the foreground are sharp and focused. I have taken a couple of bird in flight shots but nothing nearly as good as yours.

Thanks, one of the nice things about the FA* 300 is the fast manual focus so tracking a moving object is much easier than with most of my other lenses. AF is not possible with all the lily pads and other objects that can attract the focus point of the lens.
