Went to our annual Winzer Family Reunion in Augusta, Kan., (just east of Wichita) this weekend. I have a cousin who owns a farm, which includes prairie grassland and a wooded area along a creek. The city also has a city lake, which is low, creating mudflat for Tom's favorite bird. It was a good weekend for shooting.

Yep, your favorite is my favorite, too. But, I surely do like that fourth one.

The child on the slide is great but the heron shots are extremely nice and very sharp.

I clearly see why you are satisfied with your weekend. You've got all the reason. The heron shots are top, but the kid (your kid?) is my favourite too.

His name is AJ and he (the kid not the heron) is my short-little-smart-guy nephew. He's 3 and just a little charmer. In that shot he misjudged the slide. He's a pretty good slide guy, but this trip ended on his rumpus. The heron was a lucky shot. I've got a 600-1,000 mm f 9.5 manual focus lens. I normally have ot use a tripod, but I didn't have time to get it set up. I focused in on the heron and started snapping just as he decided to leave. Those are shots 1 and 3 in a three-shot series. Basically I got lucky. Here's another shot.

You must get lucky with your photos quite often since the bee shot is very nice too.
