I lost my setup disk that came with my new K100D. I had the camera for just over two weeks now, but have always used it in jpeg mode where I dumped the picturest straight in with a card reader. However, this weekend a friend asked me if I would be kind enough to do her wedding photography. I have some experience doing weddings, so I agreed. In order to ensure her wedding prints were of the highest quality though I shot in RAW mode. However, I can not find the setup disk to install the photo lab application to make sense of the raw data. I found my box, the manuals, and everything else except that disk. I first unpacked the camera and started playing with it at my work, and I am afraid I may have left the disk there accidentally. However after searching around there I can not find it. I checked the pentax website to see if they have the program available for download, but they don't. I do not know what to do to get the pictures off the card, please help!

You should be able to download whatever you need here.

While Adobe bought RawShooter, they still have available the free download of Rawshooter essentials. You could use that to change the pics to Tiff or Jpegs. Also there is a public beta of Lightroom at Adobe as well. I think its set to expire in Jan? Good luck!

Tom- I am located in springfield oregon.

The pentax website only provides software updates, but says i need to have a previous version installed. The two raw file utilities say there are no usable raw images on the memory card, however I can preview the immages on the camera just fine. The Adobe application tells me the pictures can not be imported because they use an unsupported color mode.

rfortson:
You can download form Pentax site just updates, they won't install without having original Pentax software CD.

Spiritbro77:
RawShooter (Essential and Premium) does not support K100D. You'll need to hex edit PEF files changing there K100D to *ist DS (or DL). I guess not many would want to do that.

tvguy:
Get Silkypix
