Well I decided to try out the k100D next to my DS in the camera store. First thing I noticed was a brighter viewfinder-which is a big plus for my lousy eyes. I really don't notice anything advantageous over the k100's viewfinder. Next thing was the faster AF using the FA*300. My DS almost seems to labour when using this lens if I don't have CRV's for powering the camera. Impressed me enough to by the d__ thing! So here's a few shots of using the SR in dark conditions. It was almost dark when I shot these. Check the exif data for all the shooting info. ISO performance was very good. Some of these are at ISO 1600. The only negative I could find was the buffer was a little slower, but not enough to make me lose any shots. I very rarely hit a burst of photos, and when I did, it wasn't a back breaker by any means. One other feature I really like was the digital preview. Made setting the exposure a snap. I quite like this camera, and the k10D is going to have to be a major leap forward for me to buy one...cheers......Don.

1. This chickadee shot would never have turned out being handheld on my DS as this one did. Not bad for 1/125s at 300mm. This wasn't in the closing darkness as the following ones are....D.

Love those orange sunsets. I really like our K100 too.
