I think you may be a bit behind the times. It is common knowledge SR works well and gives you 3 stops extra to work with

I was surprised at Steve's conclusions on SR - my experience has been that I can definitely get 2 stops, sometimes more with the K100D. I think it will depend on who's behind the camera, and I haven't tried anything longer than a 200mm lens.

Its very surprising and I have seen reviews that says everything from 1,5 to 3 full stops. I managed to get50 % success rate with a 400mm lens at the speed of 1/15 s when testing K100D.
