Steve made this comment in his conclusions to this this review:

'Pentax first used the "K" designation in the mid-1970's on its then innovative K1000, which offered a bayonet lens mount and full aperture metering to enthusiast photographers'

Sorry Steve, but the K1000 wasn't the first of the Pentax'K' series bayonet lens mount cameras. There were three in the first launch, the K2, KX & KM withthe K1000 being added later as a low budget entry level SRL which certainly proved very popular.

Shortly thereafter, the 'M' series continued the trend with the ME, ME Super & MX.

HopeSteve will forgive my mild chastisement.
