What does a K100 RAW file look like? Could anyone post a full size sample somewhere converted to .JPG? (I currently dont have software to view RAW files) Im wondering how much better it handles fine detail like foliage and grass.

Interesting, but not really what I was looking for.

When converted to Jpeg, it will be similar to what you get from regular Jpeg from camera. The difference is that you can tweak and adjust a lot of things before the RAW get converted to Jpeg. Typically, you get to adjust white balance, tone curves, exposures, shadow details and highlights. You can also correct distortions, shifting, CA etc. You have 12-bit information to play with in RAW before convert it into 8-bit Jpeg.

The link I posted has the original RAW picture in pretty bad shape (left side)and after tweaking you get a decent photo out of it (right side).
