There's an interview with a Pentax rep about the K10D, on the Pop Photo site. It's at http://www.popphoto.com/popularphoto...-the-k10d.html

There is no special nor *any* new information contained in the interview. It is just another official announcement in verbal afterall!

E.g., when the Pentax manager talks about the sensor, no information even about the maker was asked and mentioned! The popphoto interviewer was not asking what we want to know, he just asked what have been mentioned in the news announcement published on 14.9 point by point! What a marketing!!

He asked some of the things I wanted to know, with new details I never saw before in print before.

I really don't care who made the sensor, since there is nothing I can do with that information other than use it when I get one, it simply is what it is.

Marketing, Yes, Boring No!

Having just seen the announcement for the new Samsung GX-10 two questions come to mind!
  • Is this the same as the K10D? i.e. rebadged [/*]
  • what price will it retail at?[/*]
Press reviews in the UK for Samsung's versions of of the K100 D have been less than enthuisiastic, it will be interesting to see what they make of this new model.

i read a hands on review in the forums over on dpreview. he said he had the camera set with 1 jog dial for program shift (shift!!!!) and the second for ISO sensitivity...am i in heaven, dreaming, or both?! that and a dedicated auto focus button (i relegated auto focus to the 'ok' button on my DL and like it setup that way very very much). all of that weather proofed and with IS built in, i dunno how i'm gonna justify this to my wife! perhaps i need to start selling pictures, this hobbyneeds to start bringingin some cash.
