I took this a few days ago (early morning). No editing....straight from the camera. What do you think?

Great colors. It is too bad you were not closer to that water tower, I think that would have looked great as a foreground subject. One of these days I will take some sunrise photos but thus far my attitude is that any day I do not have to be at work is a great day to sleep in.

Nice colours.

Ron, I have always used the phrase, "Red sky at night , sailors delight, red sky in the morning, sailors warning"

To me, a red morning sky means inclement weather, served me well for years as a soldier in the field. I wonder if it is a southern hemisphere thing, like the water down the toilet going the other way...:?.:lol:

Crashman,
Not just a southern hemisphere thing. My Dad often recited a very similar phrase. As a piece of wisdom it dates waaaay back:

"When in evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: For the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today; for the sky is red and lowering." - Jesus, Matthew 16: 2-3.

Beautiful shot. File that one and use it for a background on composites!

Thanks guys! I love the sky this time if year. I took that from my front porch while not quite fully awake.

as a sailor i can assure you that it's a world wide adage. red sky at night means the system has past you, red sky in morn means it's coming in. great shot BTW.

I can't remember what the weather was like later that day, but I think it did rain.
