Took a quick walk across the road and took these photos as the Geese, Ducks and Cranes are getting ready to fly south. Thought the silhouette of the Cranes against the clouds was interesting as they were almost flying into the setting sun.

I love that last one, very crisp (especially the water splashing up). There are all three great, but the ducks stand out.

All I can say is Wow! I love all of them, so sharp, focus perfect, DOF lovely. While I love the colors on the last one, the second one is my favorite.

I think I agree with Harriet. But they are all fantastic, of course. Otherwise I'm confident you wouldn't have posted them.

Thanks! The weather is getting colder and the Wood Ducks are some of the first to fly south for the winter. These are all wild ducks not use to people and photographing them is like hunting without a gun and I had great fun watching them. Here is one of the male Wood Ducks just before they noticed me and flew off.

Awesome awesome awesome. That's all I can say. Was this with your 300 f4 lens?

Yes, it was the FA* 300mm 4.5 again, I just love that lens. My 200mm f/2.8 is sharp also, but always seems to be just a hair too short for shots like this, so I stick with the 300 even though it isn't as fast.
