Tamron SP AF 28-75mm 28-75 f2.8 XR Di LD (MACRO)

Will this fit the Pentax K10D?.....looks like an excellent lens, but in ebay, it says for Canon-Nikon?

Wayne, if it says Nikon it won't fit Pentax.

Then how come it's listed here as fitting Pentax? Is this list correct or no?.....please look at the link and let me know if the lenses on the list will fit the K10D

Lenses come with different mounts.
You can get that Tamron with either Pentax, Nikon or Canon mounts, each compatible only with the matching camera body.

The one you see listed is only for Canon or Nikon (they must have at least 2)
You'll need to search for the Pentax version for the k10d

What about when it's listed as 35mm compatible, I've seen that too.....this is all so confusing :-(

Its not confusing at all! :blah:

You have (or will have) a Pentax camera, so you buy Pentax mount lenses - simple!

I presume 35mm compatible means it will work on an old 35mm film Pentax camera.
(some newer lenses are for digtal only)

Tamron is a 3rd party lens manufacturer like Sigma.

You can buy lenses from Sigma in a variety of mounts and the same for Tamron.

The Tamron SP AF 28-75mm 28-75 f2.8 XR Di LD (MACRO) lens you looked at will come in different mounts, you need to buy one like this for Pentax

Heres the same lens for Canon

Or

You can look for manual focus Tamron Adaptall mount lenses, where you can change the rear mount and remove say a Nikon or Canon one and put on a Pentax Mount. The one lens can be used on any camera depending on the mount used.

Don't confuse a Tamron Adaptall mount with a lens adapter, the Tamron Adaptall lenses are designed to use the Adaptall mount and can't be used by ANY camera without a mount attached, it just depends on what sort of camera you have will depend on what sort of mount you use.
