Another try from Saturday. Thought this one looked good till I cropped it and viewed on the screen.

Back to the drawing board I think, but at least they are getting better (I think)!

I think there is value in each photograph we at least attempt. In this pic, I like the form of the sea gull in flight that you managed to capture. The wings are well displayed and I like the gradient of color of the white to black feathers. The two aspects that could be improved is the focus (granted this is a bird in flight...very tough to do) and that the left wing is cut off. What Av did you use btw? I find that alot of times when it comes to shooting targets in motion, you just gotta shoot a bunch of shots and hopefully one of them comes out well. Perhaps setting the camera to continuous shooting mode in this particular situation would increase the chance that one of the shots comes out well framed and in focus.

Thanks. I like the angle etc as well. Unfortunately I was just playing at being a tourist, with the cam on auto, so it chose Portrait mode, f13, 1/1000 sec.

Normally for bird shots I would be in continuous mode and shoot as many as possible to try and get one infocus.

Like this.
