Not likely. Sony owns part (all all for all I know) of Tamron.
From the rumor mill.........
Sony owns 11.08% of Tamron stock.....

The A-mount lens Sony refers to is the Minolta Maxxum mount (referred to as the A mount because it was the first Auto focus specific mount). It has absolutely nothing in common with the A-series Pentax lenses (except, of course, that it was designed to mount on a camera).
