Very cool panning shots! I've pulled this off exactly *one* time. Seeing this makes me want to head for astreet corner and try again because it really is so fun when one works perfectly - likes these examples did. Actually, I would like to do this with my Golden Retriever in a run. I've bombed those over and over again

Neat shots, how many tries did it take to get ones as good as these? I am going to have to try this.

I think I took about 30 shots that day. These were the 2 that came out the best. Alot of it is just trial and error. It's a fun technique to learn.

Here's one I took at the Rockets game last week. Not exactly the same, but the player is in focus while his legs and the background are in motion. Taken with the K100D, Tamron 28-300 at 300mm and f6.3, ISO800, AF-C, SR on.

yeah, taking a picture like i did (of a car.. or any large object without moving parts) is a lot easier than a dog or person (like the picture above, very difficult and nice shot). i guess i was just lucky or something, but that shot is one out of two pics that turned out nicely.. out of five total.

I finally got around to giving it a try.
A lot easier than I expected - with cars at least.
