Just got a remote from ebay at $2 plus shipping.
The pro is that I can trigger it 80 ft away (confirmed ok in test) which is great help for shooting birds. I am ecstatic.
The Con is that the distance has to line of sight and cannot be too much off axis.
That is to limit my set up for birdie shots.
Another problem is that the remote trigger will be blinking which may warn away birdie.
Any input from any expert here?
I believe this one is more powerful than Pentax F remote and it opens a few channels that hitherto is impossible to surmount

Daniel
p.s. I have another trouble that nobody can help: not too many birds around in Toronto this time of the year.

I have one of those I got on ebay also for almost nothing, but the shipping was somewhere around $10 from China. It works great, although it won't lock the shutter like the cord one does.

Oh mine mine mine

Some new info on K10D

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=20633822

It has front and back remote controller

Mine can operate at the front 80' and off axis (80 degree) 15 '

Pentax even has this part covered

Better not to read those article when I have no plan of getting a 3rd camera body

Thanks - I was hoping it would be nice and simple.

I'm looking at making a simple Wireless Remote - when you press the button it focusses, when you release the button it shoots.

Daniel,

KEH has a Pentax Remote Control for the ist D series for $11. I added a 6 foot coiled extention (from Radio Shack) to mine and now have an ultra long wired remote which works well for birdie shots. Here is the link to KEH:

http://www.keh.com/OnLineStore/ProductList.aspx

If this link does not work, go to KEH.com and follow the links to get to Pentax accessories. J
