There other areas in this forum that do general themes and challenges.

What we need is something that reflects our shared interest in taking pictures and techniques with Pentax based eqipment.

Maybe we could use to illustrate the capablities of various lens types, ie wide angle views of a particular subject with details of the lens used as part of the challenge?

Bob, I am not sure about Kangaroos as we don't have many of them here.

Got lots of Wallabies though:lol:

I'm in favour of the idea, bu tthink it doesn't have to be very formal. Why not post and invite others to follow?

No, it'll have to be snow and ice. Right, Harriet?

This is a cool idea - I'd love to participate. My only suggestion would be a stipulation that the images submitted actually be taken during the time of the "challenge", meaning no searching through your library and posting a pic you already took that happens to fit the category... it'll help lend the the feeling of "immediacy", which is what I love about the pics I see posted here. Just my 0.2.

Richard,

You have just done what a Chinese general would be doing in a battlefield centuries ago. When two armies lined up, the generals usually duel it out first. Smart general might send out a 3rd tier general instead as a psychological tactic. If you cannot even match a lowly general, how can you win the battle? A lot of time a full blown battle would be avoided and one side backed off completely.

So you send your 9 yrs old in solely to intimidate us. We had better back off sinceeven your 9 yrs old is so good already.

BTW your 7 yrs old is a born beauty. Lucky you.

My daughters would be mortified if I post their pix. They are 30 and 27.

LOL! I'd love to post ice and snow, just will have to wait a couple of months. It was 33 F when I got up this morning, so there's hope for frosty pictures sometime soon.

Well, I agree that it has to have a "personal" touch of this forum, only restricting 1 theme to 1 type of lens might discriminate people who don't actually own a lens like that.

What we can do is say that the camera the photo was taken with has to be a Pentax. Users of other cameras can start a similar topic in their forum or try the "weekly challenge" forum.
Since all visitors of this forum are Pentax users anyway, that shouldn't form a problem...

Ok, looks like we have a good amoutn a people already, so I'll go ahead and start a thread.

Excellent idea about the poll & winner picks next theme roy!

this'll be fun
