How about October Autumn Leaf!

This is one of the last hold outs today in my yard. The wind is blowing like crazy, so it was hard to get standing still.

Well, like our friends down under it is not yet autumn here in Florida. (And when autumn finally gets here in December or January leaves change straight from green to brown with no color in between). This is the closest I could come for a traditional entry, a tree that gets colorful seed pods in the fall . . .

But these are the colors I associate with autumn in Florida, at least every other year. Not technically leaves, they certainly provide autumn color:

Tom's red leaves against blue sky gets my vote so far, but the competition component of this great idea is of little interest to me. I think the most interesting is and will be to see how everyone approaches the subject.

I went to town today to see if I could get something, and I got this:

A* 85 mm [email protected] f5.6, 1/90 sec, ISO400

I finally was able to shoot some fall color here in southern california. Woo Hoo! Took the family out to the local pumpkin patch and came across this beautiful maple tree. I took some of the leaves home with me and taped it up against a sunny window.
Taken with k100d, 18-55mm kit lens. Tv=1/90, Av=8, Iso=200, Ec=1.
