Well, here we go, the first Pentax Forum Monthly Challenge!

Quote:
this months theme: Autumn leaves

(i figured since there's only half a month left I'd choose the obvious...)
Only a few rules:

1. Restrict to the theme. try to be creative with it and you'll find that there are many ways of showing 1 subject.

2. 1 photo/post. To keep things organized and to benifit people who use the attachment option. Multiple posts/day are allowed though.

3. The photo you posted is the final version. Don't post a "better version" after you posted the original one. This also means no different angles of the same setup & concept. The goal & challenge is to capture the theme in a single image. So if you post multiple entries, make sure the concept is different.

4. A winner is elected after each month, he/she gets to pick the next theme & post the new thread.

5. Last but certainly not least:
Respect the other posters. The goal of this thing is to have
fun & stimulate eachother by a little healthy competition, not to win or to critisize other people's work. So give your opinion, but in a contructive manner, and please don0t copy someone else's idea/work.

I realise the 3rd one is a little abstract, but don't worry about it. I just want to avoid getting 100 macro shots of the same insect in the thread...

(for example: don't post a picture of a leaf, and then the day after the same leaf, with some better lighting.
If it's the same leaf, but with a big spider in the middle, so that the spider becomes the subject, then it's ok, because your concept changed.)

If I forgot something let me know and I'll edit this.

Last one to post is a rotten egg!
321 go!

Enjoy!!
TDN

P.S.: if a mod could sticky this I'd be ever greatful...

Me first!!

I didn't edit this much, just levels, USM and cropping. I am posting it not because it is a great photo but because of the one red leaf.

Does the picture have to be taken in October?

DigitalAddict: preferrably...the fun aprt fo the challenge is going out to work towards the theme.
but if you got this great shot you think is just right for this theme, I don't think anyone will "disqualify" you for posting it
This particular theme does require it to be taken in autumn though...

Ira, nice one. Too bad the red leaf is just a tick out of focus...

Only if you're in the northern hemisphere which kinda limits potential entries from south of the equator.

I generally concur, only that for some it is kind of late in the season to start that now.
I will see if I can find anything worthy left around here otherwise I will go with one from the end of September.

Yes I agree. With people from all over the world it's going to be hard. I wouldn't make a rule out of it.

My contribution for today:

Autumn only just started here, so there's still a lot of green...

taken with the A 50mm f1.7 (god I love that lens)

I'm in! I posted this one a few weeks ago, but for the purpose of the theme, here it is again.

Can I post a shot that I've already posted in another thread? If so, here's my entry:
