PDL, some of your text is in white, many of us are viewing this forum on a very pale gray background, making your text very hard to read. If you leave the default settings there will be no problems. Love that mailbox BTW.

Maybe it is just my prefernces but I think the black and white images posted here have a much more profound impact than colour usually does. With colour we are often just recording a scene but with Black and White we are usuallyinterpreting. I think in photography this is the dividing line between a snapshot and art. A colour image must be far more unique or impressive to instill the same emotional response.

royce10's image of the infant would still be a great image in colour but in black and white it transcends that because we are drawn in by the fine detail and the delicacy of that little hand.

Keep it up, I think I finally started something of consequence here.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm glad you all enjoyed the pic. Sometimes color can be very distracting to the eye. In the absence of color, you only have the subject matter and light. I like how B&W conveys sentiments and moods well. This is a great thread Monza. Everybody, keep those pics coming!
