I have a Sigma 100-300mm F4 which I mount on a Sigma EX 1.4x tele. Wondering if this combo could be mounted on another Sigma 1.4x or 2x tele (or maybe another brand tele) and produce reasonable results / not damage the teles? I've emailed Sigma but no response as yet.

Basically I'm looking for a cheap way to get more reach.

I've stacked a 3X and a 2x on 35mm cameras and gotten decent results. The more glass you put in the way the more distortion and the less light that hits the sensor!

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to get the 2x tele anyway if I can find one at a reasonable price - which will probably mean buying from the US. Adorama comes up in google. Are they reliable / competitive pricing? Are there any internet places worth looking at? I'm also after the Tamron 28-75mm so may buy both at the same time.

By the way Dawg, what's in your mouth in the avatar?

I've heard good things about Adorama. Another very reliable store (not always cheapest) is B&H - I've bought 3 cameras and a lens there over the years.

There are lots of reliable stores. Find one with a price you like and ask us. We're not shy.

A light bulb! Electrically charged! Try http://bhphotovideo.com/ if Adorama doesn't work out!
