These shots were taken with the K100D and the 50-200mm DA Pentax lens.

Buffer is smaller than my DS, but it is definitely up to the task of capturing action shots.

Great shots! I love the expressions on their faces.

Thanks for the reply. I am fortunate to get shots like these since I coach at this school and can place myself anywhere around the field.

I found shooting with the action coming at you to be very difficult but definitely worth the effort when you get shots like these. The boys were thrilled to see themselves in action and I have taken over 4.000 shots this season.

Starting to compile a CD collection for them as a keepsake and putting a slideshow presentation together for the team banquet after the season is done.

Nice shots. I would much rather watch some kids play any kind of sport than a bunch of overgrown and overpaid prima donnas. I like the last one. You can see that the main subject sticks his tongue in the side of his mouth when he is concentrating.

These areawesome - next time someone says you can't shoot sports with a Pentax camera, you can refer them here. Don't know why, but there's something about the first one (light and dof/focus combination?) that I love - my slight favorite over the other, equally well done pictures.

I was the one that mentioned the limitation of sports shooting with the Pentax due to buffer size. I never said that it could not shoot a good sports shot. I did say that I missed shots due to its buffer size.

Thus I went with a camera that can handle what I want for "sports shooting" and getting more of the action as it unfolds.

It is obvious the Pentax can make great captures of any photographic interest.

Here is a repost of shots I took last year of my cousin playing soccer back in California using the Pentax DS with the Tamron 70-300mm LD 1:2 Macro.
