Hi everyone,

my proposal for this month shootout would be: "Glass of wine".

It can cover everything related to wine (glass, grapes, lighting/shadows, vineyards etc.) as well as to other beverages- so everyone can shoot in-and-outdoors all around the clock- every input is appreciated- and freedom to move around on both hemispheres.
As our first initiator TDN's poll figured out:
1. Images accepted until Nov 30th;
2. We still vote for the best pic;
3. Number of shots limited by self-critique... (Was 1 but changed on Nov 18th after considering pro et contra plus reading posts in this thread. Main goal was to encourage creativity- and IMHO it is best done by posted samples, otherwise many of us may hold back hoping something "super" coming out next (or next...) day)
4. Results will be available on Dec 5th- but how it will be figured out yet :-)

Sorry for some kind of delay- was too busy with non-photographic stuff for couple of days...

So, happy shooting and waiting for ideas/images etc.
Best, JR

Nice idea. I'm curious how everyone will approach that theme.

Ok, the rules about the winner and 1 entry/person were determined by the outcome of the poll a few days back. So I guess those are clear. Especially the part about 1 entry/person was clear, 23 votes against 3 I think...

The decision about letting it last 1 month or 2 weeks came out tied, so I guess we'll just have to see how fast this one disappears to the next pages.

Gonna try to come up with an idea for a photo now good luck everyone!

Tom

TDN, perhaps you could ask one of the mods to make the challenge a sticky each month so it doesn't get buried?

Grrr!, I made some this afternoon which would fit the constest, but, with my -new- point and shoot Kodak camera.

Well, I put it in the Kodak forum, and I'm gonna find something for this challenge.

Do we put the photo's here or in an exclusive photothread ?

Richard.

Does the image have to come from November? - I have a nice one but it is from July 2006.

It would be helpful to have the "time" attributes explicitly stated.

Well...it is kind of a "convention" to only allow images from after the challenge was posted. That's how all other challenges on the web work. Otherwise the challenge is degraded to browsing your archive, and it misses its purpose: to go out and shoot towards a theme

Anyway that's my opinion about it...if everyone else disagrees I will of course accept that

This one isn't great but it is timely. Salud!

The Sigma 24-135mm lens, 43mm, f3.5, 2sec, ISO 200. Lit by a flashlight with a small electric fireplacein the background. DOF is a little too shallow but the Salud tag is sharp (this is lit by the flashlight passing through the glass.

BTW just got back from a short trip, read the challenge and gave it a try.

Ira

Suggestion: Why don't we start another thread for discussion and improvement. What I mean is that we can post "improved" images based on input from the forum but not for consideration here. Any comments?
