Catbells,

Try going back and shooting Newport Quay at night or after sunset with a tripod and long exposure. I'm sure the buildings lights and pier lights would look nice reflected off the still waters with the boats in the foreground as silhoutes.

A few shots of Newport Quay on the Isle of Wight, UK - not quite so impressive.

Swgod98,

It's interesting you noticed that. When I post processed this picture, I actually divided it in half. I individually adjust the contrast/brightness/saturation for the sky and then for the bottom half separately. When I tried to do them together, it didn't look right. I think what I ended up doing was brightening the bottom half since it was so dark. I think that's why it ended up looking grayish/washed out.
Very perceptive swgod98. :G

Hey Royce, I think this one could have turned out a little better if you had a little more contrast on the boats/bottom half. The top half looks great, but the bottom half looks washed out.

The colors turned out great, though.

Interesting effect Robar. I must have an older version of ps. I don't think I have the hilite/shadows option.
