Saturday I took a bunch of uninspiring pictures and was totally frustrated. Sunday all I wanted to do was go buy a K10D, but realized that the problem with the pictures were the photographer. I didn't get any bird pictures because the closest I got to a bird was hearing a hawk a long way away.

So I decided that a bowl of clam chowder sounded good for Sunday's lunch. Where else to get clam chowder but a tiny town known for its clams, and at a small hole-in-the-wall cafe that makes their own clam chowder? And I knew that I'd have no problems finding birds there.

It isn't like these gulls are very wild - they hang around waiting for food to drop at their feet.

There are other things to photograph besides sea gulls here at Pismo, home of the Pismo clam.

Kids love to play in the sand - I'm not sure what this fellow was trying to catch.

There's lovely scenery to be found no matter where you look (taken with the DS and the kit lens)

Very nice images. I specially like the wide angle one! The kit lens is such a value!

So Saturday'slow turned Sunday's high! What a lovely reportage from a lovely day in the sun. And the pics all show what you are capable of. But they make me wonder even more why you find snow nice;).
