Man, you are killing us with these shots :-) (my mornings are quite hectic, no time for shots)
It makes me drool for a 70-300mm and coincidentally the Tamron Di LD is on my list and the TC 1.4 should arrive on Monday.

What is your overall impression about the lens? How about with the TC?
If it is not too much to ask, can you share the max aperture throughout zoom range?

Thanks.

The lens is a Tamron AF LD Tele-macro 70-300mm f4-5.6. I like the lens OK--it's quite a bit smaller than my 20-300 Tamron. The tele-converter is nice, but it does focus rather slowly with a lens with an apeture larger than 2.8--not a problem for most shots I take. Overall, the setup is nice, but you have to have a stable tripod and use the 2 sec timer with mirror lockup.

We have quite a few eagles here in the Mn River Valley. The ones here now come down from the arctic and fish the Mn River for the winter. The go back in the spring, and others come in for the summer. I've seen a number of them from my car with rabbits they've just caught, but they always take off before I can get the camera out.

Hi,

Nice Shot. Eagles are in the U.P also. They just had a story on the news. The DNR found and Eagle walking on the side of the road. It could not fly because someone had pulled its tail feathers out and they painted the eagles head brown.

The DNR is looking for who ever did this. I think it is a federal offense to Abuse Eagles. I hope they shoot the sucker that did this!
